Steel futures inch up on increased maintenance
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures inched up on Monday along with raw materials, with more steelmakers announcing maintenance plans, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2024 rebar contract closed at CNY 3,562/tonne ($490/t) on Monday, up CNY 18/t from the prior trading day. The same contract for HRC gained CNY 15/t to CNY 3,760/t.
