Turkeys steel exports rebound in August as mills mull consolidation
Turkish steel exports increased by 8.2% year-on-year to 1.36 million tonnes in August, driven by shipments to United Arab Emirates and Iraq, according to the Turkish Steel Exporters’ Association (CIB). This is the month this year that Turkish steel exports have risen, Kallanish notes.
In terms of value, however, exports decreased by -16.4% y-o-y to $799 million in August, CIB says in an emailed statement.
