Steel Dynamics shoots for 2050 carbon neutrality
Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Steel Dynamics Inc (SDI) has drawn up a timeline to hit carbon neutrality by 2050, Kallanish reports.
By 2025, SDI plans to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions in its electric arc furnace mills by 20%. That figure will move to 50% by 2030.
Concurrently, SDI’s share of renewable energy is slated to increase to 10% by 2025 and 30% by 2030.
