Steel Dynamics picks SMS for Texas mill furnace
Steel Dynamics Inc (SDI) has selected industrial equipment supplier SMS group to provide the steel production line for its planned Sinton, Texas, flat-rolled mill, Kallanish learns from an SMS release.
The 3 million short ton/year line is slated to be commissioned in mid-2021. No financial details for the line itself were released, but the so-called Southwest mill is expected to cost upwards of $1.9 billion.
