Steel Dynamics closes $400m Heartland acquisition
US steel producer Steel Dynamics Inc has closed on its $400 million purchase of cold-roller and galvanizer Heartland Steel Processing, Kallanish reports.
Heartland's Terre Haute, Indiana, facility adds 1m short tons of cold-rolling capacity and 360,000 st of galvanizing capacity to Steel Dynamics' annual capabilities. Following the full integration of Heartland, Steel Dynamics will boast an annual flat-roll shipping capability of 8.4m st.
