Steel Dynamics acquires Kentucky Electric Steel assets
Steel Dynamics Inc (SDI) has acquired all of the assets of Kentucky Electric Steel (KES), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Specialty Steel Works Incorporated, for $5 million, Kallanish reports.
KES' 250,000 short ton mill, which produces flats and specialty alloy bars, was closed earlier in 2018. SDI says it will reopen the rolling mill in November. The facility, which is located in Ashland, Kentucky, will be considered part of SDI’s W…
