Global stainless steel consumption to keep improving: Aperam
French stainless steelmaker Aperam says that global stainless steel market conditions improved in 2017 from the low utilisation rates seen in 2015-16. The company was commenting in its 2017 annual report monitored by Kallanish.
International stainless steel utilisation rates hit a low-point in 2015-2016 but are forecast to gradually improve through 2022, as global demand growth continues and China addresses its structural overcapacity, Aperam says.
