Spain’s January steel output, scrap consumption rise sequentially

The Spanish steel sector saw production and scrap melting increase on-month in January, Kallanish notes. Both activities, however, remained weaker compared to the same period last year. According to Spanish steelmakers association Unesid, the local steel industry produced around 794,000 tonnes of crude steel in January.
