South America, Mexico crude steel output recovers
South American and Mexican crude steel production increased month-on-month in August, according to worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish.
South American output totalled 3.96 million tonnes during the month, 3.5% more over July and 17.2% higher year-on-year. Eight-month production amounted to 30.26mt, up by 24.93% y-o-y.
The region’s largest producer, Brazil, saw crude steel production reach 3.14mt in August, 4.7% higher m-o-m and up 14.1% on-year. Yea…
