Strong iron ore, premiums see Kumba profit surge
High iron ore prices and Kumba’s capturing of product premium above market levels saw the South African miner’s revenue surge 101% on-year in the first half of 2021 to ZAR 63.6 billion ($4.27 billion), the firm says.
Ebitda grew by 155% to ZAR 44.4 billion and attributable free cash flow of ZAR 31.5 billion was realised. Net profit surged 167% to ZAR 30.6 billion.
