SMS to upgrade Sidenor walking beam furnace
German-headquartered technology supplier SMS Group tells Kallanish that it has won an order from Sidenor Basauri in Spain to upgrade the steelmaker’s walking beam furnace.
Supplied by the SMS group in 2016, the furnace was originally designed with the provision for a future capacity increase. The upcoming work will increase the furnace’s capacity from currently 85 tons (sic)/hour to 130 tons/hour, SMS confirms.
