SMS to upgrade Global Steel Wire plant
Global Steel Wire, the unit of Spain’s Celsa Group, has ordered from SMS Concast an upgrade to its continuous billet casting machine, Kallanish learns.
The upgrade should broaden the range of cast formats to as much as 240mm square sections, "…enhancing the productivity and the quality of the cast products," the technology supplier says. The current capacity of the caster is 900,000 tonnes/year.
