SIM to build new HBI plant in Quebec
Société Internationale Métallique (SIM) plans to build a 2 million tonnes hot briquetted iron facility in Quebec by 2019, Kallanish understands from a company release.
Construction on the facility will begin sometime in 2017, SIM says. Steel services firm Midrex Technologies Inc and construction company Primetals Technologies will be handling the equipment procurement and installation.
