Shougang and Hegang respond to merger rumours
Shougang and Hebei Iron and Steel (Hegang) both said on 3 August they have not received any clear message concerning a merger plan from China’s central government. Shougang expressed uncertainty about the reported merger, which would create China's largest steelmaker, Kallanish notes.
