Shagang steel production increases with scrap usage surge

Jiangsu Shagang Group reports that it produced 15.55 million tonnes of pig iron, 19.35mt of crude steel and 18.98mt of finished steel production over January to October. This was respectively up by 1.5%, 14.9% and 12.8% year-on-year. The differing pace in growth between iron and steel output shows the extent of the increase in scrap usage at Shagang this year, which estimates purchasing volumes of around 6mt of scrap.
