Severstal ramps up automotive sheet production
Russian steelmaker and miner Severstal has started a project to build a quality inspection system for galvanized steel strip at its Cherepovets Steelworks (CherMK), the company says. This is part of a programme aimed at increasing production of automotive steel sheet, Kallanish notes.
The new equipment will increase the volume of certified products and, as a result, the production of auto sheet on this line, the enterprise claims.
