SDI plans Kentucky Electric restart
US steel producer Steel Dynamics Inc plans to reopen the former Kentucky Electric Steel mill in Ashland, Kentucky, just one month after acquiring it for $5 million, Kallanish reports.
The 250,000 short ton/year mill produced both merchant and special bar quality long products. It was idled in March by the previous owner Specialty Steel Works.
