Scrap usage falls globally, except for Turkey: BIR

In the first quarter, scrap deployment in most major markets took a dip, while Turkey fortified its role as a scrap-using nation, according to the latest statistics from the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR). There was a -9% drop in China’s Q1 steel scrap usage to 41.53 million tonnes, according to the authors of the statistics, Rolf Willeke and Daniela Entzian.
