Scrap prices continue rising in Turkey
Although some Turkish steelmakers have raised their domestic scrap buying prices, quotes have decreased in dollar terms due to the fast depreciation of the lira this week.
Turkish mills' imported scrap demand has been strong in recent weeks and numerous bookings have been concluded from both short-sea and deep-sea suppliers. With prices increasing with each booking, deep-sea scrap has reached $276/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20.
