Scrap price fall pressures Turkish long steel quotes
Turkish mills are facing strong pressure on their long steel quotes amid weak steel sales and lower scrap prices, notes Kallanish.
On Thursday, the expected imported scrap price decrease materialised on a fresh booking concluded from the US. A Marmara mill bought bonus and shredded at $404/tonne cfr Turkey and HMS 1&2 80:20 at $384/t cfr, down from the same supplier’s sale at $387/t cfr last week.
