Schnitzer sees increased earnings in fiscal second quarter
US metals recycler and longs producer Schnitzer Steel Industries is seeing an on-quarter uptick in its fiscal second quarter earnings, Kallanish reports.
In the quarter ended 29 February, Schnitzer recorded a net gain of $4.5 million on sales of $439 m. In fiscal Q1 2020, Schnitzer experienced a loss of $6.6m on sales of $405m. On-year, Schnitzer's earnings are down from earnings of $13.44m on sales of $473.57m.
