Schnitzer expects fiscal first quarter profit
US longs producer and recycler Schnitzer Steel Industries plans to be back in the black for its fiscal first quarter, Kallanish learns from company guidance.
Schnitzer expects earnings of $0.60-0.64/share in the quarter ended 30 November, up from a fiscal Q1 2016 loss of $0.05/share ($1 million).
The company’s flagship auto and metals recycling arm is expected to double its income year-on-year.
