S+B launches new steel grades.
Steeltec, part of Schmolz+Bickenbach (S+B), has launched a new ferrite-pearlite bright bar steel, HSX Z10. The company says the steel is designed for the fabrication of highly stressed parts, such as the drive shafts or pump components used in the automotive, mechanical engineering and hydraulics industries, Kallanish notes. It has also developed a new superduplex stainless steel for use in aggressive offshore environments.
