Saudi scrap prices rise amid shortages
Ahead of Eid, Saudi domestic scrap quotes have inched up SAR 20-25/tonne ($5-6) week-on-week due to scarcity, Kallanish hears from market participants.
On a delivered basis, HMS 1/2 80:20 is offered at SAR 1,620-1,630/t in Jeddah and SAR 1,660-1,675/t in Riyadh. Against full prepayment, scrap merchants in Riyadh provide a discount of SAR 25/t to close deals at SAR 1,650/t delivered for HMS 1/2 80:20 and shredded.
