Saudi H1 semis imports drop despite June surge
Saudi Arabian semi-finished products imports, over 99% of which were square billet, surged 347% on-year in June to 95,018 tonnes, according to General Authority for Statistics data monitored by Kallanish.
This was mainly due to a surge in China-origin imports to 47,557t from zero in June 2015. Oman supplied 30,992t in June compared to zero in the year-earlier month, while supply from Bahrain rose 43% to 16,183t.
