Kumba Iron Ore output, sales decline
South African iron ore miner Kumba, a subsidiary of Anglo American, reported a 2% on-year decline in iron ore production in the first quarter to 9.27 million tonnes and a 10% drop in sales to 8.53mt. This is in line with the company's reconfiguration plan to adjust the performance of port and rail operator Transnet Logistics.
