Sangang Minguang targets higher 2024 production
China’s listed state-owned Sangang Minguang, the largest steelmaker in Fujian Province, aims to increase production in 2024, despite reporting higher losses last year amid expanding production, Kallanish notes.
In 2023, the company produced 11.24 million tonnes of crude steel, up 1.94% on the prior year. Output of all products other than pellet was also rising (see table), with a new coke battery contributing to the surge in coke output.
