Samarco recovers half of pre-dam rupture production rate
Brazilian iron ore miner and pellet producer Samarco, co-owned by Vale and Australia's BHP Billiton, says its output was 5.8 million tonnes in January-September. In the nine months since it resumed operations, the company has managed to ramp up output to 54% of the production it registered over the nine months before the Fundão dam accident in 2015.
