Samarco extends temporary layoffs
Brazilian iron ore miner and pellet producer Samarco has extended the temporary suspension of work contracts for its nearly 800 employees until November, Kallanish learns from a statement issued by the company.
“As provided in the agreement with unions, and in the face of uncertainty regarding the date of resumption of operations, the layoff will be extended for another three months, until 31 October,” says Samarco.
