Salzgitter completes blast furnace modernisation
SMS group has commissioned a new Paul Wurth Parallel Hopper Bell Less Top (BLT) in blast furnace A at Salzgitter Flachstahl, the strip making unit of Salzgitter AG.
As part of this upgrade, the BLT system from 1977 was replaced by the new unit, which boasts an array of technical and operational enhancements, Kallanish hears from SMS.
