Sail increases shipments, returns to profit
Steel Authority of India (Sail) reported an 8% on-year increase in sales in the first fiscal quarter through June (FQ1) to 3.27 million tonnes, while also returning to profitability, Kallanish learns from the Indian steelmaker.
Revenue rose 23% on-year to INR 15,907.19 crores ($2.31 billion) and the firm turned to net profit of INR 540.43 crores compared to a loss of INR 801.38 crores in the year-earlier quarter.
