Sabic foresees construction rebound after Hadeed depresses earnings
Sabic says the Saudi Arabian construction sector is expected to pick up momentum this year as a result of the anticipated increase in government expenditure. This comes after a poor performance in the fourth quarter of 2017 at its Hadeed steelmaking subsidiary dragged down consolidated profit.
Sabic’s consolidated revenue rose 8% on-year in Q4 to SAR 40.56 billion ($10.82 billion), although total comprehensive income fell -10% to SAR 4.43 billion.
