Ryerson predicts sales up, profits down in Q2
Higher sales prices and volumes are expected to plump up US service centre chain Ryerson’s revenues in the second quarter, though margin compression will bite heavily into profits, Kallanish learns from company guidance.
Ryerson expects to produce revenues of $865-875 million in the quarter ending 30 June, up from $815m in Q1 and $740m in Q2 2016.
Ryerson’s net profit, however, is expected to be $0-2m, down from $15m in Q1 and $6m in Q2 2016.
