Russia’s stainless steel imports drop sharply in August
Russia decreased imports of stainless steel in August, according to national special steel association USSA. Imports amounted to 17,900 tonnes, down by -29.9% compared with the previous month, Kallanish notes.
In July they were 30,800t, up by 3.8% compared with June but down -14.4% on-year (see Kallanish passim).
August imports of stainless cold rolled flat products decreased by -30% on-month and hot rolled flats fell by -22%.
