Russia’s stainless imports rebound due to higher demand
Russia increased imports of stainless steel in December, according to national special steel association USSA. Imports amounted to 35,650 tonnes, up by 7.8% compared with the previous month but down -7.3% on-year, Kallanish notes.
In November these imports were 26,100t, down by -2.6% compared with October (see Kallanish passim).
December imports of stainless cold rolled flat products increased 9.1% on-month, but hot rolled flats fell by -34.1%.
