Russian scrap consumption grows, outlook for 2024 positive
Consumption of ferrous scrap in Russia this year will increase by 10-11% on-year to 22.6 million tonnes, Russian scrap metal association Ruslom tells Kallanish.
The volume of scrap collection will increase by 18% to 24.2mt. Exports outside the EAEU – Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia – may reach 1mt, which is 2.5 times more than in 2022.
