Russia’s January automotive output falls significantly
Carmakers in Russia began 2023 with another production slump following their radically reduced output in 2022 amid the Ukraine war and consequent sanctions.
Production dropped 77.6% on-year to 21,300 vehicles, Kallanish notes from national statistical service Rosstat.
In December, Russian carmakers produced 40,200 units, down 68% on-year (see Kallanish passim).
