Russia’s first-quarter stainless imports increase, March intake down
Russia’s imports of stainless steel scrap increased in the first quarter, despite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine altering market trading patterns, says national special steel association USSA.
Russia’s stainless intake in January-March amounted to 111,720 tonnes, up by 22% on-year, Kallanish notes. However, in March alone stainless imports amounted to 27,900t, down by 39% on-month and 20% on-year.
