Russian steel output increases in January
Russia’s steelmakers produced 5.33 million tonnes of non-alloy semi-finished steel in January, up by 7.5% on-year, according to national statistical service Rosstat data monitored by Kallanish.
In December output is estimated to have reached 6.1mt, down 0.8% on-year (see Kallanish passim).
January’s finished steel output was more 5% on-year at 1.8mt. However, pipe production decreased 13.4% to 800,000t.
