Russian stainless steel consumption decreases in first quarter
Russia’s real consumption of stainless steel decreased in the first quarter, according to national special steel association USSA.
It amounted to 115,300 tonnes, down by 2.8% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Consumption of hot rolled flat steel was down 10.8%, long products by 9.8% and wire by 58%. However, consumption of cold rolled flat steel increased by 7.3% and of primary billet by 55.4%.
