Russian longs market debates temporary duty suspension impact
Russian domestic rebar prices continue to grow amid the high construction season in the country, with producers hiking by RUB 1,000-2,000/tonne ($10-22/t) every month till the end of the season, market participants inform Kallanish.
The recent news of the possible suspension of export duties linked to the rouble exchange rate could help ease pressure on products that are in oversupply without disturbing the domestic market, mainly rebar in coil and wire rod.
