Russian duties will not reduce prices: scrap association
Russian scrap metal association Ruslom says the introduction of additional export duties will not reduce metal prices on the domestic market.
The Russian government has proposed to levy an export duty on steel and metals of 15% from August to December 2021 (see Kallanish passim). It has already approved ferrous scrap export duty to increase from the existing €45/tonne to €70/t ($85) until the end of the year.
