Russian carmakers increase production amid semiconductor shortage
Carmakers in Russia increased production in May, according to national statistical service Rosstat.
About 112,000 passenger cars were produced during the month, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period last year, Kallanish notes. In January-May almost 614,000 cars were assembled, up 51.4% on-year.
Production of trucks in May amounted to 12,600 units, up by 59.8% on-year, and in January-May output reached 68,600 trucks, gaining 55.6% on-year.
