Russia to increase stainless imports amid demand: USSA
Russia is expected to import a record volume of stainless steel in 2024, according to national special steel association USSA forecasts.
The intake of stainless steel by Russia in 2023 amounted to 487,000 tonnes, up by 31% on-year and 5.1% more than the pre-sanction year 2021. More than half of the volumes came from China, while India’s share was 20%, Indonesia’s 6.5% and Turkey’s 2%, the association says.
