Russia-origin surge lifts Turkish HR/CR flats imports
Turkish imports of hot rolled flat products under HS code heading 7208 surged 43% on-year in May to 512,503 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
The most-imported product by far was HR unpickled wide strip under 3mm thick whose intake soared 83% to 330,592t. Russia supplied a whopping 247,653t, over double what it did in May 2017.
