Russia loses Turkey billet import share, Asia gains
Turkey imported 247,385 tonnes of billet in April at an average price of $553/tonne, marking a 39% decrease in tonnage year-on-year, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
This was also 21% lower than March tonnage of 313,452t.
Indonesia emerged as a major supplier with 51,806t, capturing 21% of the market, while not having a presence in April 2023, Kallanish notes.
