Russia increases stainless scrap exports
Russia increased exports of stainless steel scrap in January-August, according to the country's Special Steel association, USSA.
Exports amounted to 89,100 tonnes, up 25.1% on-year, Kallanish notes. In monetary terms, revenue amounted to $136 million, a surge of 88%.
In August alone shipments were 10,300t, up by 34.1% on-year, but down 31.4% compared with July. Revenue was approximately $18m, up 114% on-year, but fell 24% on-month.
