Russia reduces Turkey iron shipments, still grows share
Turkey imported 74,855 tonnes of pig iron in April at an average price of $445/tonne, down by 48% on the year-ago tonnage, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish.
April tonnage was also down 54% compared to March, when Turkey imported 161,429t of pig iron.
Despite April's downturn, the total quantity for the first four months of 2024 showed a 9% on-year increase to 520,806t.
