Russia expects automotive output growth despite semiconductor shortages
Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade expects Russian car industry growth of 7% on-year in 2021, despite the global shortage of semiconductors, according to ministry head Denis Manturov, Kallanish notes. Sales of new vehicles will increase by about 5%.
At the same time, prices for cars next year will depend on the cost of steel, car chips and increasingly expensive logistics, say Russian automotive industry analysts.
