Russia continues to increase stainless steel imports
Russian imports of stainless steel increased in January-September to a nine-month record 368,000 tonnes, up by 28.1% on-year, says national special steel association USSA.
Imports of stainless cold-rolled flat products were up 25.8%, hot-rolled flats increased by 5.8%, long products were more by 85.9%, seamless pipe was up by 117.3%, welded pipe increased 12% and wire grew by 110%, Kallanish notes. Intake of primary billet was however down by 29.4%, USSA says with…
